Background Information
The Burn Institute is a non-profit health agency dedicated to reducing burn injuries and deaths through fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support programs and the funding of burn care research and treatment. The Burn Institute's goal is a community in which all burn survivors have the resources and support to overcome the devastating psychological and physical effects of their injuries, and community members are educated on how to prevent fires and burns.
The Burn Institute is thankful for the CSA's many years of support. Funds from the CSA will go to help pay for the printing of the take home materials provided to children in our Fire Safe Kids program. Fire Safe Kids is a comprehensive enrichment program designed to teach youth life skills that every San Diegan should know-how to protect themselves and their families against preventable burns and how to prepare for and act during a fire emergency so they can quickly get to safety.
