The Recycling Program is coordinated through the District's Energy/Utilities Program. District staff has successfully negotiated for inexpensive collection of commingled recyclables by the District's waste and recycling hauler which includes:
- Paper Products (except paper towels, napkins, tissue, etc.)
- Milk & Juice Cartons
- Cardboard
- Rigid Plastics (including bottles, jugs, jars, tubs, food and beverage bowls and cups, buckets, plastic toys, clear plastic food containers, etc.)
- Metal (aluminum cans, foil, serving trays, tin cans, empty aerosol cans, broken metal tools, etc.)
- Glass bottles and Jars
In addition to the commingled recycling program available at all District sites, programs are in place for recycling scrap metal, wood, landscape waste, construction and demolition debris, electronics, and shredded documents. District batteries and fluorescent lamps (universal waste) are also recycled or disposed of properly.
