Pay Options Open Enrollment Announcement – April 2025
Pay options enrollment periods for the SDUSD 2025-26 school year are now open. Each available pay option is detailed below. Please note the distinct qualifications, enrollment deadlines and program duration for each option.
Voluntary 12-Pay Option: for SDEA Members
SDEA bargaining unit members may now enroll in the Voluntary 12-Pay Option to begin with the 2025-26 contract year.
With this option, the employee elects to receive 12 equal paychecks each contract year beginning with 2025-26. A Direct Deposit account is required to participate in this pay option. Those who are already enrolled in this pay option do not need to re-enroll each year as the program continues until it is terminated.

If you are unable to provide electronic copies, you may mail your forms to the address provided on the form. Employees who elect to enroll must submit the appropriate forms to the SDUSD Payroll Department by June 6, 2025.

Reserve Net Pay Option: for 10- or 11-Month Employees
All monthly employees assigned to a traditional 10- or 11-month work-year may now enroll in the Reserve Net Pay Option for the 2025-26 school year.
This option enables employees to have a pre-selected portion of net pay to be set aside from each of ten monthly paychecks, and then returned during the summer months following the school year where they would not otherwise receive a salary payment. Those who enroll must authorize a specific amount to be deducted from their monthly pay warrants issued from August through May. For 10-month employees, the reserve net pay that is set aside will be paid back to them in two equal payments in June and July. For 11- month employees it is paid back in one lump sum in June. Employees who elect to enroll must submit the appropriate form to the SDUSD Payroll Department by July 31, 2025.

*Employees who have already enrolled in the California State Classified School Employees Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) do not need to enroll in the Reserve Net Pay option, unless they choose to set aside more than the CSESAP limit of 10% of their pay. These two programs are independent of one another.
