HOURLY HIRING INFORMATION

HIRING HOURLY:

Please refer to the timekeeper for all information pertaining to hiring and paying Visiting or Retired teachers to administer the ELPAC.

SAMS:

Here are the excerpts from the front page of the SAMS Website for hiring for ELPAC Test Examiners.

** ELPAC TESTING NEEDS**
All testing assignments have to be entered into SAMS to pay a visiting teacher correctly. For your ELPAC testing needs, you must enter a vacancy in SAMS with the classification 'T-ELPAC-Sum-SDEA Retiree' or 'T-ELPAC-Initial-Retiree,' depending on which testing is needed, with the reason code 27-Testing. To find a qualified Visiting Teacher that has the training and is retired, you can put it in SAMS for call out. Retired teachers need to be offered the assignments first from SAMS for ELPAC and their hours will populate in their hourly non-classroom Teacher record. The hour's default to 8 hours and you will need to correct the hours to reflect the number worked. DO NOT enter time for them in their substitute teacher record. If you have a non-retired visiting teacher that has the ELPAC training and will be testing for your site, they should be set up in a job under 'T - ELPAC-Sum-Non-Retired VT' or 'T-ELPAC-Initial-Non-Retired VT' depending on the training need, with the reason code'27-Testing'. They will be paid the normal daily rate. There is no long-term rate for ELPAC because it is a non-teaching assignment. Teachers that need a substitute while they are performing the testing will enter their absence with the reason code 27-testing-ELPAC (Certificated Only)
