College, even UCSD, is within reach for all students
That was the message conveyed to more than 500 students and parents who gathered recently to learn about UC San Diego as a college option at an "Evening with UCSD."
Attendees were greeted by UCSD staff and students as they entered the auditorium. UCSD's Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Juan Gonzalez opened the program, followed by other UCSD representatives who spoke about the admissions process, applying for financial aid and the career services available.
Following the formal program, current UCSD students spoke about their experiences and answered questions from the audience.
The event, hosted by Madison High School, was coordinated by UCSD, Cal SOAP, and the district's Office of Secondary Schools.
