When will my district-paid coverage terminate?
Coverage under the district-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans in which an employee is enrolled terminates at the end of the month in which the last day of paid service in an eligible monthly salaried position occurs. For example, if an employee's last day of paid service occurs anytime in June, the medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage terminates June 30th.
Who do I notify about my intent to retire?
Employees must notify both the Human Resources Department at the district and their pension system (CalSTRS or CalPERS) of their intent to retire. The Resignation/Retirement/Separation Form to notify the district can be found on the Human Resources Department website here.
Does the district help pay for some of the medical premium cost?
Pursuant to collective bargaining agreements, retirees who meet specified eligibility requirements may be eligible for a monthly, district-paid contribution ("subsidy") toward the cost of their district-sponsored medical premium.
