Background Information

Located in City Heights, the Copley-Price Family YMCA serves a truly unique community, known for its economic disadvantage and the diversity of its population. The Copley-Price Family Y is dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We aim to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive - regardless of age, income, or background. We do this through providing services within the following areas: Fitness & Wellness, Aquatics, Sports & Camps, Teen Programs, Active Older Adults, and Preschool. The Copley-Price Y is much more than a pool and gym facility. It is committed to being a community resource - offering access to impactful programs and services that build individual's health and well-being, and strengthen the community by bringing people together. We ensure that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay by offering scholarships to over 35 percent of our members.

CSA Support

The Community Service Association has supported Copley-Price Family YMCA's Preschool Program for low-income families. This program gives kids a foundation of early childhood education and development from which they can grow, learn, and succeed in the future. Copley-Price's Preschool Program is shaped around a creative curriculum focused on hands-on and play-based learning, in which lesson plans and teaching are determined by children's interests. The CSA has helped Copley-Price to purchase "dramatic play" supplies for pre-schoolers that encourage kids': creativity, language skills, socilaization skills, and cognitive skills. Through helping us to purchase these supplies, the CSA helps our Preschool achieve it's primary objective of provding an environment encouraging of children's health and social and cognitive development that is accessible for families from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
