CSA - NTC Foundation

NTC Foundation RGB

Background Information

The mission of the NTC Foundation is to enrich the lives of San Diegans by renovating 26 historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center to create, facilitate and operate ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, which focuses on experiencing the arts, culture and creativity that are the hallmark of the San Diego region.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES respond to a need to 1) Create a Center for Arts, Culture & Creativity offering Innovative Experiences to residents and visitors, 2) Develop a Creative Hub for San Diego's nonprofits and artists, 3) Establish a Dynamic Destination for Children & Families, and 4) Preserve a Historic Showcase that honors our city's Navy Heritage. At $110 million, it's San Diego's largest Historic Preservation and Cultural project.

CSA Support

CSA supports the NTC Foundation's Liberty School program, which provides standards-based arts programs to youth at risk using the resources of the art, music, dance and photography Teaching Artists in residence at the ARTS DISTRICT. Funds are used to provide for classroom supplies. Liberty School students primarily come from military families or attend a Juvenile Court & Community School.
