Background Information

Casa de Amparo's mission is to support those affected by, and at risk of, child abuse and neglect through a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth and healthy relationships. The organization's trauma-informed child abuse prevention and treatment programs educate, protect, nurture and guide over 1,000 children and 900 families each year who are impacted by child abuse and neglect. Casa de Amparo serves vulnerable children, teens and families in San Diego County, with clients ranging from pre-natal to 25 years of age. Programs include: Residential Services, Pregnant and Parenting Residential Services, New Directions transitional housing, Child Development Center providing therapeutic pre-school, Family Visitation Services for child and parent reunification, Counseling Services and Young Parent Network.

CSA Support

During the past several years, support from CSA has provided transportation for residents in Casa de Amparo's child abuse prevention and treatment programs. A critical component of the organization's ability to help youth recover from the trauma of child abuse and neglect is the capacity to provide youth with safe and reliable transportation to medical and clinical appointments throughout the community.
